Herewith VBS 66 Nano badminton string review:-
This VBS 66 Nano badminton string is a combination of both repulsion and durability type of string from Victor. If you still remember about Yonex BG 66 badminton string, both string gauge are probably about the same. Nevertheless, if you have tried both strings, you will feel that there is a difference between the two. Firstly, you will probably get a “medium” feeling for VBS 66 Nano. Secondly, as for Yonex BG 66, you will get a “soft” feeling.
How do you decide if the string is suitable for yourself? This is our advice. If you love repulsion but at the same time feels that the 0.66mm gauge string can’t give you more control on netting and lobbing, we believe Victor VBS 66 Nano can help you.
Review from Eric:- The feel is good when strung between 24 – 26lbs. This string is suitable for me as I need both repulsion and control. You will probably say this string has a “medium” feel.
However below are Victor VBS 66 badminton restring experiment DT tests at 26lbs.
First Day 52 – 56 DT
Second Day 50 – 53 DT
Third Day 51 – 52 DT
If you feel that Yonex BG 66 is too soft for you to get good control, then VBS 66 Nano is probably a good choice for you. This does not mean that the string is the best or it is suitable for everyone. Every individual player has different needs. Furthermore, some players may like VBS 66 Nano string but some may not. It all really depends on what the player needs.
We have some comments from our members. For a few years, right from the beginning, they have been using BG 66. They felt that the string “drop tension” too fast. After getting more details from them, we found that actually the member is not used to the string plus the tension was also too high for him to handle.
Therefore, we advised them to try Victor VBS 66 Nano string and at the same time set it to a lower tension. After a few months, their feedback was they felt very happy and comfortable with the string. At the same time, the tension is just nice and it was a breeze to lob to baseline.
Sometimes, as the stringer is also a badminton player, he needs to know what the player wants with regards to their racket and string. It is not advisable to just tell them this “ this is a good string, new arrival and is used by national player” or something else .
The most important thing is you need to help them choose the right tension and string plus the racket too. Try to put yourself in their shoes so that you will be able to understand better. By doing this you will also be able to understand more after the member has used the racket and restring by you.
We had a beginner member who was using Yonex Z-Force II with 3UG4. Some of you might know that this racket is a head heavy racket. From this you can see that they do not even know that they have chosen the wrong racket until we informed them.
Very often, they will send their rackets over and request for string model, BG 66 Ultimax and tension at 27lbs. We did not know that they are beginners until much later when we became closer. Out of respect, we did not tell them the truth. Our stringer purposely arranged to have a game with them in order to find out their level of play. After that, we explained slowly and advised him to buy a new balance and lighter racket instead of Z-Force II.
After some time, he bought a Nanoray series racket and we strung for him VBS 66 Nano . From that time onwards, there was trust and friendship between us which is not easy to come by.
Lastly, our stringer is also a Certified badminton coach in Singapore. This means that he knows more than just doing stringing. This is the reason why we can always ensure our members that they will always be getting the string and tension most suitable for them.
