Herewith BG80 Power string review:-
For a start, Yonex BG80 power badminton restring is one of our most popular string choice in ERR for the past 2 years. Most of our members said that they are able to feel that the string is softer. It is also the first generation of Yonex BG80. Although the hitting sound is not that good as compared with BG80, but it is still acceptable.
Furthermore, we advise that BG80 Power badminton restring tension should be at 25lbs and above. Why? As per our ERR players experience, the repulsion is only noticeable when the tension is above 25lbs. Most international level players prefer BG80 series because the explosion power and durability are good.
Lastly, this BG80 Power badminton restring is a combination of YONEX original high-intensity nylon multifilament and high-modulus Vectran. It provides a solid feeling and powerful smash for hard hitting players.
Review by Eric: I used to string at 28lbs for my leisure games. The durability is good as it can last me 2 months of play. On top of this, it feels good when performing smashing.
Below are the BG80 Power badminton restring experiment DT tests at 28 lbs:-
First Day 62 – 67DT
Second Day 54 – 57DT
Third Day 50 – 53DT
BG80 Power string is best known for its repulsion and durability. Yonex has produced a few types of thick strings. In fact actually it is just to increase the durability. On the contrary, BG80 string series are able to provide good hitting sound plus durability.
For your information, we will normally use electronic stringing machine to string BG80 Power racket restring. In fact, we will be using YONEX Protech Series World No. 1 stringing machine to string all our members rackets.
Furthermore, to make sure that the tension is accurate, we will be sending our tension head for calibration. It will be sent to a calibration company once every 6 months. The calibration point will be 22 – 32lbs. This will ensure that all tension will be covered within tolerance.
For your information, clamp is one of the most important factor that attributes to string durability. Hence, the clamp system will also be sent for calibration once yearly. If the string is too tight during stringing, the coating of the string will be damaged. Therefore, the calibration is to ensure that the tightness is just nice according to each string gauges.
Besides all of the above, all the badminton restring will be handled by our Certified Stringer, Mr Eric Chuar. Furthermore, all the stringing services will be done according to International Tournament Standard. This is to say that all badminton rackets must be empty frame when loaded onto machine. Hence, there is strictly no pre-string method or we will offer a refund.
In addition, if you want to play well with your racket, the string plays a very important role. Most leisure players think that as long as the stringer can restring their rackets, it is good enough. They are contented that they have a racket to play with.
For an example, if we were to use pre-string method, the string consistency will not be accurate or good. On top of this, the lifetime of the string will be shorter too. Therefore, this is the reason why in all International tournaments, only empty frame is allowed up to machine. After that, then only the stringer can start to string.
Hence, this is the reason why sometimes after playing for just a while, the strings snapped in the middle or somewhere else. This is because there is no consistency in the tension. Last but not least, if you are in doubt as to what type of string is suitable for you, do consult our Certified Stringer, Mr Eric. He will be most happy to advise you.
