For a start, herewith is the review on BG66 badminton stringing review:-
Firstly, Yonex BG6 racket restring is a good badminton string. It is suitable for both young and old generation of badminton players. This string has attracted many Singapore badminton players. The reason being it is able to provide good repulsion and durability. Although Yonex has launched BG66 Ultimax, a lot of players still prefer Yonex BG66.
The hitting sound is solid and clear when restring at between 24 – 27lbs. As for control, it is also acceptable. In fact it is more durable as compared with BG66UM. This is due to the fact that the string diameter gauge is thicker at 0.66mm. Many national players from 2012 – 2017 has been using BG66. They felt that the repulsion power and durability are just nice.
Review by Eric:
I string at 29lbs for my leisure games. I can easily flick my wrist to exert power whereas I will need more strength with BG66 Ultimax.
Below are BG66 badminton restring experiments DT tests at 29lbs
First Day 66 – 68DT
Second Day 63 – 65DT
Third Day 61 – 64DT
We will be using different stringing method when using BG66 racket restring. By doing so, it will be more comfortable during play. Out of 10 badminton players, we noticed that 6 prefer BG66. At the same time, this string attracts mostly intermediate to advance players. Why? Their feedback is that the string is more durable. Furthermore, the tension drop is slower. It can last 1 -2 months for their games.
Previously we had feedbacks from players who sent their rackets for restringing at shopping centres. They were not too happy with BG66. It was after they have sent their rackets for restringing to our Certified Stringer, Mr Eric Chuar that they noticed the difference. Most likely, a lot of leisure badminton players do not know that different stringing pattern, tension does make a difference to their rackets. On top of all these, having proper stringing skills plays an important part in badminton stringing too.
For example if the stringing method is not professional, pre-string method will be used. Sometimes the stringer may start to pull the string from the right side instead of from the middle. Many times, manual stringing machine or machine that has not been calibrated are being used. Certified Stringer like Mr Eric Chuar will always calibrate his machine so that it will provide accuracy. Calibrated machine will not hurt or spoil the strings also. Furthermore, our Certified Stringer uses the World’s No 1 stringing machine, Yonex Protech 8. From all of the above, you will understand why it is so important to go to a Certified Stringer. By doing so, you can also extend the lifetime of your string plus the performance.
This is the reason why we always insist that all stringing must be conducted by our Certified Stringer. On top of this, all stringing must be according to International Stringing Standard. This means that No-Prestring method or Self- Created Stringing method are allowed. The other important thing is that our machine head is sent out for calibration every half yearly. This is to ensure that the accuracy is within our tolerance.
We are aware that most leisure players do not know about this. This is the reason why we always share our stringing experiences with our members. By doing so, we can help them to choose the right string and at the same time extend the durability too. The most popular requests from members is they would like to have better repulsion together with durability. We will then choose the string based on their requirements.
Sometimes, members inform us that they have just recovered from an injury. For this instance, we will adjust the tension accordingly . BG66 badminton restring’s gauge is thick and therefore more durable. This also means that the tension can last longer. This string is also suitable for players who like high hitting sound. In conclusion, this ultra-thin gauge string offers the ultimate in repulsion power together with a clear hitting sound.
