When we are restring badminton racket using BG65 badminton string, we can feel that the string is quite thick. For beginner players or leisure players who do not have proper badminton training, they will have the feeling that the string is very stiff. Furthermore, they will also find it difficult to generate good impact when hitting the shuttlecock. It will be more difficult if they did not learn the proper basic skill as to how to swing the badminton racket.
Review by Eric: I used to use Yonex BG65 badminton string for my racket together with a tension at 28lbs. I used it for my regular badminton games, coaching and sparring with my students. I feel very comfortable when I have to execute smashing as I am able to generate power within my comfort zone. Also i do not have to exert extra power to generate speed during my smashing.

Most advance badminton players will choose Yonex BG65 badminton string when they restring their rackets. Why? For the advance badminton players, their racket strings burst very often. Thus if they use a thin string, the cost of restringing will be much higher as they will have to do so more often. Therefore, they prefer using Yonex BG65 string for their rackets.
BG65 racket stringing is very attractive to most badminton players. The reasons being it is able to save costs to the players and at the same time durable. However, the feedback from beginner badminton players is different.
They find it difficult to hit the shuttlecock. At the same time, the sound from the string is not as nice as compared with other thick string like Yonex BG80.

However, some of our ERR clients commented that they prefer their kids rackets to be strung using Yonex BG65 badminton string. Their reason is that since they are still in school team, it is better that they do not spend so much on their rackets. It is better to save on costs when they are still doing training. They can always change to a better string when taking part in tournaments.
To summarize, based on our BG65 racket stringing record, this string can provide great durability . For an intermediate player, this string can last about 3 – 4 months before the next restringing.
For advance players, it will last about only 2 months. Why? Advance players will be hitting on the sweet spots accurately most of the time. This will cause the string to burst easily.
When you hit the same spot multiple times, the string will be broken easily. This happens not only to Advance Badminton Players. It can also happen to leisure players. Sometimes many Leisure players ask us why their racket strings only last them for 2 weeks.
In order to find out why their racket strings only last them for 2 weeks we decided to do some checking. We found that actually they were hitting on the wrong sweet spot all the time. They were always hitting the upper top end of the racket.
We decided to replace at the upper top end of the racket with longer grommets. This is to prevent the string from being hit. By doing so, the string should be able to last longer. We followed up with the racket owner after a few months.
He told us that his racket feels good and the strings are still intact. Finally in conclusion, we have solved his problems with regards to him hitting the wrong sweet spot issue.
